Transforming Communities Through Recovery

MOAR leadership speaking

MOAR is dedicated to changing how communities understand addiction and celebrate recovery.

We raise public awareness about substance use disorders and the value of recovery by engaging individuals in recovery, their families, and friends, encouraging them to join our movement, share their stories, and get actively involved in advocacy and driving meaningful change. Using Recovery Messaging Tools, our members speak out about the benefits of recovery and the social costs of addiction in our communities and workplaces.

Each year, we celebrate Recovery Month, bringing together people in recovery, policymakers, legislators, treatment providers, and community members.

These gatherings highlight our accomplishments, foster connections, and emphasize the ongoing need for public education about addiction. We also provide community education on the importance of a full continuum of care, including certified peer recovery coaches, peer recovery support centers, and other services that reflect multiple pathways to and through recovery.

MOAR supports culturally specific treatment and recovery services, and we partner with treatment providers to ensure quality care for individuals and families.
