We continue to seek and build a recovery informed society where recovery becomes a societal “norm” and prevention a societal “given.”
A core part of MOAR’s mission is to organize people in recovery—along with their families, friends, and allies—into a collective voice that educates the public about the value of recovery from alcohol and other addictions.
MOAR envisions a society where addiction is treated as a significant public health issue and recovery is recognized as a strength that benefits all of our communities. To help make that vision a reality, MOAR works to educate the public about policies being debated in the Massachusetts Legislature that impact addiction prevention, treatment, harm reduction, and recovery.
We believe that lived experience matters. We encourage individuals to use their own voices and stories to inform policymakers and drive meaningful legislative change. When we show up together—visible, vocal, and valuable—we are stronger, and together, we are victorious.
